Mistmantle

Jasper is a squirrel that is around 20. He orignally came from Sundew island but moved to Da Capo. He is the prince's handiler even though their the same age. His job is like a captian on Mistmantle. He is caring, playful, responsible, and generious. He also secretly loves Princess Adrina. They were best friends before he moved away.

    The Island of Da Capo

                                  This is where Prince Adagio comes from. They are a huge city that is twice the population of Mistmantle. It is the largest island. There wealthy because of there many exports. Da Capo has large war ships and skilled warriors. The Royal court consists of the King and Queen, the Prince and Princess, and high people of the court, which are like the captions on Mistmantle. {It goes as far as the black lump in the back. Theres no mists on the island}

 Commodore Okan. He has control over every ship from Da Capo. He is late twentys early thirtys. Okan has very good senses. He can predict when things are going to happen.

Capriccio- {Ca-preach-e-o} High member of the court. He is my age, and one of my best friends.

King Vivace- {Vi-va-s} Is my dad. He comes from a long strong line of leaders. A strong, loveing, Funny man. Like Adagio only older, and more mature.

Grazioso- {Gra-zee-o-so} A skechy vendor of Da Capo. A pirate. My friend who is a secret. He makes more money that way.

Harmony- My mother who is fun and a really good singer. Enjoys parties, and her status.

My main character's name is Terapin and she's 29 years. She was found swimming in a tidepool (Thats how she got her name) No one knew who her parents were so she was raised in the castle, and became a page when she was old enough. Later on she was made Captain Terapin. She have two twins, Dart and Osha. She is married to Tide (no relation to Tide from the books)

Her personality is- fun, caring, courageous, generous, strong willed, smart, good with a sword,  and responsible when she has to. She would never turn her back on an innocent animal or an animal in need. She would give her life to save others, especially one of the royal family. She isn't fond of what she had to do during the most recent war (the Raven-Rat War), but knows that it was necessary.

Characters

 Tide of the Voyagers- An otter, Terapin's husband, He's 29. He works at the castle as a guard. He is smart, caring, and tough. He is a Voyager and has been on five journeys off the island. He is a always in the mood for a good laugh. Currently on Mistmantle for the time being.

Cherile of the Songs- An strange colored squirrel, she is decent of Sepia of the Songs, 18 years. She inherited Sepia's voice, and can sing just as good as she. She was a page for Sundrop, who died in the war, and often babysits younger animals. Cherile is loving, kind, intelligent, brave and playful.

Dart and Osha

Twins, 1 1/2 years. Osha has a very strange fur color, white. One of the only white otters to be seen. Her personality is very princess-like. She loves swimming, and playing dress-up, hates adventure, and violence, is cautious and sometimes mischievous. Dart is on the other hand (laying down), adventurous, loves action, swimming, mud, bugs and all other things Osha hates. He is very playful and surprisingly helpful. His fur is slowly getting darker.

Princess Adrina- Basically Queen of Sundew Isle, 19. Her parents vanished a long time ago. She's extremely caring, can be stubborn, playful yet serious when it comes to wars, business, her people/island or talking about her parents. She likes Jasper, and their relationship is somewhat like dating. She doesn't always, if ever, get along with Adagio.

The Old Castle-

This is the Old Castle of Sundew. Adrina lived here when she was a child until her parents disappeared she moved to the Castle on the Rocks. She moved back to this castle, because of its sustained peace and beautiful surroundings. Also it is closer to the capital and many other villages/cities like Rose Dust and Ember. 

As bright as a squirrel, as loyal as a hedgehog, as determined as a mole, as valiant as an otter, as persistent as a rat, as swift as a vole, as confident as a chipmunk, as courageous as a mouse, as focused as a weasel, as unified as the Heart.

Clove of Mistmantle is a young otter who works in the kitchens.  She cooks, runs errands for the senior cooks, and delivers food to tower animals (ones who are sick or otherwise can't eat with all the other animals).  Shoal and Sylva are good friends of hers and they often play together when they have time.  Clove is eager in whatever she does and loves meeting new animals and talking to her friends.  Clove is realizing that Shoal might be a little more than a friend to her and is feeling slightly flustered about what to do, but doesn't avoid him because of this.

Shoal of the Fires is Sylva and Clove's friend.  Shoal is a hardworking otter and makes earthenware for the Tower.  He likes to joke and tease his friends, especially Sylva, which annoys her at first but later brings the young rat out of her shell.  Even though he is easygoing and doesn't stop to hesitate, deep down he worries about his friends and other animals and will go out of his way to make sure they're alright--even if it means breaking the rules.  He likes Clove and wants to be more than just her friend but isn't sure how to bring the subject up, though is planning to just tell her soon.

Sylvatica the Weaver, Sylva for short, is a young brown rat.  She is quiet, standoffish at first to new animals, and can be tempermental and selfish sometimes.  Her overall intentions are good, though, and she has a lonely nature so despite her shyness and attitude she wants to make friends with others.  Sylva can swim, and weave things from grass and other materials (something she started doing so she wouldn't feel lonely but she soon got skilled at weaving and began doing it for a hobby).  Sylva is usually very prepared, sometimes over-prepared, and is seen sometimes as "the reliable one".

Toban is a young adult vole who works with making bows and arrows, and he is fairly proficient with a bow.  He is in charge of keeping the weapon room stocked with bows and arrows, and hopes to someday be also in charge of training animals to use a bow. He is calm, responsible, helpful, and kind.  Toban enjoys being around other animals and talking with them.  He likes being social but has rare moments where he wants to be alone to think and practice with his bow.

Rowan of the Carvings is a headstrong squirrel living near the tower close to Curlingshell Bay. She's fierce, passionate, reliable and really rather sweet (on the inside).

Would do almost anything to save a friend in need, but holds a very sensible head on her shoulders. Her carvings are her pride and joy, and she spends nearly all her time on them, which would explain why her only real close friend is Alder.

I'd ask her to add something for you from herself, but she's dreadfully busy just now designing a new carving for the Throne Room. Perhaps later I can pester her into telling me what it's of.

 Alder of Mistmantle is a gentle, sensible young squirrel with a touch of the sixth sense. He is great friends with Rowan, who respects his judgement greatly, and thinks he should become a priest-in-training under Sister Terra.

Frankly, Alder doesn't think that's for him to decide.

"Hello. I'm Alder, as you probably already know. I was just thinking about a dream I had last night about the rain, and- what a coincidence- it began to rain.

I thank you for taking the time to read this, and I'm sure my friend Rowan would, too, if she weren't so busy. I do believe she's making a carving of Lady Whisper to go alongside that Threading of her that used to hang in the Throne Room in King Crispin's time. Heart knows if it's still there (and probably the king and queen do, too)."

Glenn of the Falling Leaves is called so because when he was very small, he fell out of his tree. He grasped a few falling leaves, and, because he was so little, the leaves were able to fan out and soften his fall.He was just recently promoted to Captain.

Though quiet and careful for a captain, he makes a striking one nonetheless.

"Good weather today. I thought about going for a swim, but, truth be told, I'd look a little silly next to the other captains. Swimming for a squirrel doesn't offer much dignity, and I can't imagine makes for a good impression on the other islanders, and- well, you get my meaning."

Sequoia of the Circle is a stern but not unkind squirrel graying at the ends of her ears and tail. She is the current historian of the island.

"Yes, thank you. As you see, I'm rather bust right now, and haven't got much time to "chat". I've just been to see Sister Terra for an opinion on a Threading I found of Captain
Lugg from the days of King Crispin. I found that his paw is outlined in gold, and of course that means it's related to the Heartstone. I shall have to look into it."

Poinsettia of Mistmantle is a squirrel with a sweet, nervous disposition.

She does her best to help and care for others, but, as the youngest of four, feels a bit small and insignificant. Has a certain fondness for flowers.

"Oh! Hello! I wasn't expecting to speak to anybody- Sorry. That sounded odd.

May I start over? Hello! My name is Poinsettia, but you can call me Setty if you like.

I'm just on my way to pick a boquet for Mum. Or for you, if you want it, but you don't have to accept it if you don't want to- I understand if you don't. Oh, dear. Am I babbling? Sorry."

Leilani of Mistmantle is an otter with a kind and motherly soul. Many animals go to her for comfort, advice or just to talk. She lives in the tower and is sometimes affectionately refferred to as Mother Leilani for her frequent services as nanny. She prefers to go by Lani. "Good day! I've just spent the afternoon watching over six young 'uns, and (Heart bless them!) after an hour of playing they were so tired they just dropped off to sleep!

Glenn is coming to call soon, so if you'll excuse me, I have to put on more tea!" 

Ember of the White Sands is a lively and playful otter who enjoys games and cakes. Named "White Sands" for the beach she lives on.  Her day isn't complete until she makes someone smile, and she'll do anything to make a friend laugh.

"Hi! I've just been out of the water, and I'm afraid I'm dripping all over the carpet. The maids are getting at me for that, and looks like I'm not allowed back indoors until I dry off. While I'm at it, I might as well go for another swim."
